SOLAR ADOBE

_

Taking inspiration from the design of the Oliafur Elisson's "Little Sun" auxiliary lamp, the goal was to take the sustainability aspect to the extreme by using natural or recycled materials to build the lamp body and adapt a small lighting system sustainable with solar energy.

Solar Adobe is a memory of pre-Hispanic knowledge and environmental awareness.

It is a solar lamp for marginal communities made with natural materials dispersed throughout the Mexican Republic. The idea is that anyone in the country can make their own solar light and be able to replace the "body" from scratch when necessary, with the least possible carbon footprint.

The combination of clay, with cactus slime and recycled paper, provides a resistance comparable to that of fired clay.
